I am proud to announce the public beta of andAMP (Android Awesome Music Player). This full featured music player is my idea of what a media player should be. It is simple to use and has all of the features you should ever need in a music player application… but I have more features planned and hope to make andAMP one of the best music player applications available on the market.
Features
- Simple to use interface – manage everything from a single location rather than 5 different windows for everything
- Full playlist support with playlists available as regular albums… even with customizable cover images!
- Retrieve missing album covers from the internet (Google Images)
- ID3 Tag Editor for single songs or complete albums
- Party Shuffle Mode – continuous playback of random songs from your whole collection
- Shuffle Mode – shuffle playback of songs within your playlist or current play queue
- Song Search – know the name of the song but can’t remember what album it’s in? This simple search solves that problem.
- Song Mode – if you just want to listen to songs as you click on them… this mode is for you.
- Attractive cover scroller… kind of like coverflow but not
- Current song indicators – First, the song that is playing will have a little speaker next to it… secondly, the player will automatically select the album that the song is from.
- Continuous Play – select continuous play to play the same list or song over and over
- Mostly bug free!
Look… every application on the planet has issues every once in awhile but we have done everything we can to test every feature… help us out and find bugs!

Hey, I just downloaded it and its working on my D-inc. I have onlyl just begun using it, but I wanted to thank you for making a great, free music player.
Two suggestions:
1. the orange disk icons you scroll through to select an artist take up a TON of space, and aren’t very aesthetically pleasing. It would be much more in keeping with the android theme to have a simple, sleek, and more compact icon representing artists so you can still swipe through them but dont waste all the screen space.
2. I am not sure if this is possible or if your app already does this, but is there a mass tag editor feature? I just added quite a few songs to my Dinc but the thought of having to enter the tag info for each file individually is terrifying…does AMP have a way to select multiple files and change all their tags at once (such as album and artist)? If not, it would be a huge help and put you ahead of the game compared to other players.
These are just suggestions, and I am by no means a developer so I probably don’t know what I’m talking about…I AM, however, a crazy droid owner and user, as well as an app consumer, so I thought it would help to have feed back?
Best of luck and congrats on a great app!

Thanks.
There is a mass tag editor feature… but to be honest, the tag editor isn’t the best… I am working on a better way to do it… right now, my main concern is corrupting peoples music… so what the app does is copy the file to a temporary directory, edit the tag and then copy the file back when that is successful. To use the mass tag editor, you just long press the album cover and select the tag editor from the menu.
As far as the albums go… you know those orange icons are album covers right? You can use the “Get Album Covers” feature to retrieve your album covers and they will be shown instead of the speaker icon. Secondly, if you long click any album cover you can manually select the image to use and do a custom search for the image. It uses Google Image search.
Best Regards,
Shawn
